Intelligent Courage

Fearing the unfamiliar is an instinct that helped early humans survive. Steering clear of unknown plants and unrecognized people helped them avoid potential danger. Now that humans have a broader knowledge base and more security, the ability to distinguish between the false fear that arises simply because of difference and fear that signals a real threat requires intelligence and bravery. If you catch yourself preemptively judging (fearing) people who are different, ask yourself if it’s real or if your reaction is unchecked animal instinct. If there’s no danger…

Use your evolved mind and open your heart.

Merci (Jarl and Steve)
