Assume the Best


When someone offends you, remember that you can’t really know what their intentions are. Creating a negative story about their motivations may validate your hurt feelings, but it also aggravates matters by adding toxic energy into the mix. Their behavior most likely resulted from an unconscious or clumsy attempt to make themselves feel good, rather than you feel bad. Try to clarify the situation in a kind and loving way without blame. If that feels uncomfortable, just assume they meant no harm and…
