Short Circuit Emotional Angst


When you’re suffering emotionally, stop what you’re doing and take a moment to pay attention to your body. Notice how you’re feeling physically. Do you feel any discomfort in your belly, throat, back or chest? When you find it, calmly commit to keeping your attention focused there. Don’t try to wish it away. These feelings need to be felt and experienced, not thought about or avoided as your ego would like you to do. Sensations and the accompanying emotional malaise often dissolve or fade away in seconds.

Out of the mind and into the body.
