Every attempt to protect yourself from unpleasant emotions that arise, such as fear, sadness, loneliness, anger or any other feeling that you don’t like, keeps you from experiencing life fully, It causes you to close your heart and prevents you from feeling true joy. Distracting yourself from your feelings doesn’t help reduce your suffering, it just delays the healing. Feelings will continue to find opportunities to resurface until they can be felt and healed.
